Review

This is an excellent resource and reference book for the Graduate Student who wants to master mathematical programming and the manipulation of the Excel Solver program. You have to take this book for what it is.  It is a textbook on the topic, used in Graduate level classes.  With that said, it has very good explanations of the background material, with detailed “How to” guidelines and plenty of examples. The author does a good job at explaining the steps of the analysis method and its a good book to have for modeling in general.  Even if you are not a Graduate student, you may find this book helpful in your business.  It shows how spreadsheets are used in real life to model and analyze real business problems. By modeling problems using spreadsheets from the outset this book prepares future managers for the types of problems they will encounter on the job.
